Local food from local people!

Serving our customers breakfast made with as many local ingredients as we can find is really important to us at The Old Bakehouse. It means we can support Devon and Dorset businesses as well as ensure our visitors get some of the tastiest dishes from the area.

Ok, call us detail obsessed, but here’s our run down of the distances closest and furthest from your breakfast table to our suppliers:

Bacon and sausages - Anton’s Butchers, Market Place, Colyton - 130 yards or a two-minute stroll from The Old Bakehouse.

Black pudding - Taste of Devon, Seaton - 2.5.miles or a fun tram ride from Colyton to our nearest seaside town.

Coffee (Axminster roasted) - Crema the Crop Coffee Roastery, Axminster - Just 3.7 miles to this independent small-batch coffee roaster and coffee shop.

Honey - Blackbury Honey Farm, Southleigh - 4.5 miles or a pleasant cycle ride!

Bread - Charmouth Bakery, Charmouth - 10 miles along the east coast into neighbouring Dorset.

Biscuits - All guest bedrooms include a selection of scrumptious biscuits from Moores Biscuits of Bridport, just 15 miles from the Old Bakehouse.

Eggs (poached, boiled, scrambled or fried!) - Strete Farm, Whimple - 19 miles west and less than 30 minutes from the best eggs we’ve ever bought!

We’re working as hard as we can to keep finding the best food produced locally, but we’re always happy to try something new. If you know a great local supplier (or you are one!) then message us in the comments and we’ll put our tastebuds to the test!

Sustainability rules ok! Sourcing all our bread, eggs and honey from the best local suppliers
